We have a few new Haunted Attractions that have recently created their own listings at Dark Destinations. Check them out!
The Haunted Mines in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Darkwood Haunted Mall in Wills Point, Texas.
The Ozark Nightmares Haunted House in Lebanon, Missouri.
Torment at Twelve Hundred in Orion, Illinois.
We welcome professional and home haunts to list themselves amongst our entries in the database. If you own a haunted attraction, here are a few reasons to get your haunt listed:
1. It's free advertising. It costs you nothing but the little bit of time to make an entry.
2. Unlike other haunt databases, we aren't haunt specific. We'll bring in cross traffic from people who are searching for a different topic and who'll end up stumbling on your haunt entry in the process.
3. One of our goals is to make it easier on the public to string together a number of macabre locations into a Halloween/dark tour where they can hit multiple paranormal sites, macabre museums, infamous crime sites, haunted attractions, etc. during a single planned vacation. If there are other macabre locations within a reasonable distance of your haunted attraction (and you might be surprised to find out how many there are that you weren't aware of), you'll eventually see an increase in customers who are doing this sort of thing. Interest in paranormal and dark tourism is on the rise.
4. Creating your own entry gives you creative control over what is said about your haunt and gets your info out there faster than waiting for Casey or I to get around to writing about your haunt.
There are more reasons, but those are the big four and I prefer writing about creepy places over creating sales pitches. :) Even if you have your own web site (and most haunts do these days), having an entry that links to your own site will still drive up traffic to your site and awareness of your business.
To create an entry for your Haunted Attraction (or any macabre location) you just have to perform the following steps:
1. Create a free account.
2. Read our tips for writing a successful Dark Destinations entry.
3. Create the entry and submit it.
4. That's it. We approve the entry and it is up and running.
Good luck. Good haunting. Hope to see you in our top 25 listing!
