Average Rating: 0 (0 ratings)
On this date in 2004, the previous owner of the house on 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, Kathy Lutz, passed away after a long battle with emphysema. Along with her ex-husband and three children, Lutz's stay at the infamous home only lasted 28 days and was later detailed in the Jay Anson novel, The Amityville Horror. The novel became an instant bestseller and spawned a couple movie adaptations and several sequels, earning the residence the reputation of being one of the most well known haunted houses in the world. Ironically, Kathy Lutz passed away during the first days of production on a new film adaptation of the story. Fueled by the coincidence, as well as other strange happenings on the set, the press soon dubbed the production of The Amitville Horror (2005) as cursed.

Dare a trip to the "cursed" double in Silver Lake, Wisconsin.
