Information
The Assassination of JFK
411 Elm Street in Dallas had gone through many changes from its construction in 1841 until the fateful day it made world news on November 22, 1963. On that date President John F. Kennedy was slain by an assassin's (or assassins') bullets while his presidential motorcade made its way down Elm Street. Evidence strongly points to the assassination having been committed by Lee Harvey Oswald from a window on the sixth floor of 411 Elm Street (at that point the building served as the Texas School Book Depository). There are many however who believe that Oswald was just a small part of a larger conspiracy and that the President was actually murdered by another assassin or assassins. The theories continue to abound to this day.

The Sixth Floor Museum
While the rest of the building now serves as the Dallas County Administration Building, the sixth floor has been turned into a museum to capture this tragic turning point in American history. Exhibits display a history of the era and events leading up to the assassination, as well as the assassination itself and its aftermath. Exhibits include a film, an audio tour, as well as a recreation of how the window Lee Harvey Oswald shot from looked on that day.
