Information
New York Comic Con
The New York Comic Con (NYCC) is a yearly convention held generally in the late winter or early spring (Check the official web site linked to below to find out specific scheduled dates). The convention is very large in both size and scope and encompasses more than just comic books and graphic novels. The NYCC also previews and premieres upcoming films and TV shows (including horror!). It also showcases video games, toys and anime.
Besides its immense exhibit floor and movie showings, the convention also has panel discussions with celebrity guests and live performances (including concerts) as well as events that are unique to each year's show.

The New York Comic Con premiered in 2006 and continues to be run by its creators, Reed Exhibitions. The show wasn't created just for fans. It also serves as a place for businesses and entrepreneurs to network and forge new opportunities in the publication industry.

Among the artists, writers and other notable guests of the NYCC, a convention attendee will find faces familiar to horror genre fans. For example, 2008's guest list includes horror/dark fantasy comic fan favorites such Mike (Hellboy) Mignola, Tony (The Walking Dead) Moore, Eric (The Goon) Powell and Steve (30 Days of Night) Niles.
