Information
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Philipsburg Manor includes the millpond described in Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

The Manor
Philipsburg Manor is a 25 acre historical museum and historical re-enactment of the 17th century.

October
Every October Philipsburg Manor is one of two places to host "Legend Weekend."

Legend Weekend transforms Philipsburg Manor into a haunted attraction. Actors dress as ghosts of 17th century occupants of Sleepy Hollow. The Headless Horseman rides about, toastmasters tell ghost stories (including, of course, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow), ghosts dance and cavort and children carve jack o' lanterns in craft classes.

Gift Shop
The gift shop carries a few Headless Horseman themed items. It also sells tour guides for the nearby Old Dutch Burial Ground and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Tour the gardens and many of the historic buildings on your own. Guided tours of the manor house and the grist mill are available at posted times throughout the day. Activities and demonstrations are continuous throughout the day.
