Twilight (2008): Clackamas Community College
This community college is located in Oregon City, Oregon and is one of many locations used in the production of the 2008 vampire film, Twilight. Clackamas Community College was established in 1966, but classes were initially housed throughout various local high schools. It would not be until 1968 when the school would establish it first campus in Oregon City. Today, the community college is spread out over three different campuses; including campuses in Milwaukie, Wilsonville, and the main campus here in Oregon City. The school serves around 35,000 students comprised of full-time, part-time, and non-credited students with a full-time equivalence of over 7,500. In 2008, it would be thrust into the worldwide spotlight with its brief appearance in a scene from the vampire/drama Twilight.

Twilight (2008)
The movie Twilight is a film adaptation of the worldwide bestselling novel of the same name by author Stephenie Meyer. It concerns a young teenage girl by the name of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Though the film is primarily set in the small town of Forks, Washington (see Forks, Washington under Literary Sites), it was decided early on to stage the production in and around the greater-Portland area in Oregon due to cost restraints and incentives offered by the state.

Production for Twilight took place at Clackamas Community College in early-April 2008. The location was only used for one day of filming and was centered on the Horticulture Department's greenhouses. The scene was an extension of a biology class scene shot at nearby Madison High School in Portland (see Madison High School, Portland, OR), which doubled in some scenes as Forks High School from the novels (see Twilight Saga: Forks High School under Literary Sites). While Madison High was used primarily for interior scenes involving the high school, the exterior scenes were shot at Kalama Middle High School in Kalama, Washington (see Twilight (2008): Kalama High School). The so-called "greenhouse field trip" was a new addition to the film and is not found in the original novel.

Clackamas Community College Today
The school continues to serve students from the surrounding area and remains an active high school. As such, Clackamas Community College is closed to anyone that is not a student or staff member.
