The Glass House
David H. Brown began constructing this house in 1952 after retiring as an undertaker, a profession he had worked for 35 years. Initially meant to cater to his own weird tastes, Brown began collecting square-shaped bottles that were used throughout the industry to hold embalming fluid. He ended up collecting over 250 tons or half a million bottles all from friends and colleagues in the industry and began construction on this house, made purely out of the bottles. Initially meant as a residence for Brown, crowds soon began showing up to look at this rather unusual residence. Ultimately Brown broke down and hired a staff and opened the house for tours. It is now open seven days a week from May to the Canadian Thanksgiving in October. The facility is located 7 km south of Boswell on Highway 3-A. Check the site below for more details.
