Information
The House of Frankenstein
This haunted attraction has been thrilling guests for decades in the so-called "Museum Alley" of the Clifton Hill district in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The House of Frankenstein was one of the many museums that descended upon the long-standing entertainment area starting back in the 1960s and has remained a popular tourist destination ever since.

The year-round-attraction is a classic haunted house maze set up; complete with animatronics, special effects, strobes and other creepy lighting, the occasional actors, and monsters... plenty of them. The monsters are primarily highly detailed wax figures, with the added feature of animatronic moving parts. The haunt also features a graveyard scene, hanging corpses (that you need to dodge), a hall of mirrors, and the ever-infamous jack-in-the-box that has caught more than a few of the guests off guard.

Visitors to the haunt can even get in on the fun and instigate the torture of some of the displays or send an inmate to his death on the electric chair by pressing a simple button. For those that need a break from the scares of the haunted house, the site also conveniently features a theater that continuously plays the original 1931 Boris Karloff classic, Frankenstein. Or gamers can try their hand at a classic "Monster Mash" pinball machine.

The Location Today
Over time, The House of Frankenstein has constantly reinvented itself to keep up with the current market trends. From their offset of paper mache creatures to the moving, talking creatures of today, the attraction continues to grow and expand. When a Burger King restaurant moved in next door, a giant Frankenstein monster was constructed on top of the building munching down on a Whopper - now looming over both the restaurant as well as The House of Frankenstein. The haunt continues to be a Clifton Hill favorite and even was the scene of a wedding in February of 2008, which took place in the theater room with the bride and groom signing their marriage certificate on the pinball machine.

It has been a few years since I went through Nightmares but let me tell you i was scared beyond. I love all things horror and scary but I am returning to the Falls and I am not convinced I am brave enough to visit it once again when I make it to the Niagara falls.
