Jersey Devil Hunts
This seasonal attraction takes guests deep into the New Jersey Pine Barrens in search of its most famous legend - the Jersey Devil. These guided tours take place between the months of October through February on designated Friday nights and are offered by the Pineland Preservation Alliance. The three-hour "hunt" treats guests to live folk music next to an open campfire in Wharton State Forest before launching into the legend and reported sightings of the Jersey Devil. After the group has been sufficiently brought up to speed, they then embark on a one and a half mile hike into the Pinelands to search for the elusive monster. To further enhance the mood, the trek is completed in the dark and other spooky stories and folklore of the Pine Barrens are related to guests. Dates of the Jersey Devil Hunts vary and they require registration, so please refer to their site below for more information.
