Information
Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast
This manor was built in 1849 and was occupied by the Union Army in 1862.  During the war, four Union generals stayed here including Ulysses S. Grant and William Tecumseh Sherman.  In fact, Sherman reportedly once slashed the bannister after being ordered by Grant to apologize to their hostess and the mark is still visible to this date.  The historical manor and all of its belongings are still there and double as a bed and breakfast today.

Ghosts
The manor has also been a hotbed of paranormal activity.  Guests have complained of odd noises keeping them at night, doors close on their own, and phantom footsteps walk down the halls.  Several Tennessee-based ghost hunters have investigated the property and returned to gather more evidence.

Haunted Magnolia Manor
In October, Magnolia Manor offers ghost tours of the property.  Guests get a full tour of the house and will be able to interact with members of the Memphis Mid-South Ghost Hunters as they conduct an investigation in the house, during the tour.  Following that, visitors will be ushered into horse drawn wagons and taken on a ride through Bolivar to see other haunted locations nearby.
