Tagsylvania
Tagsylvania is a seasonal haunt located in Big Flats, New York. Established in 2010 by Tag's Restaurant, it offers three separate attractions that are open during the Halloween season. The Tagsylvania event is held at Tag's, a restaurant and concert venue, utilizing the establishment's summer stage to create a two-story haunted house as well as offering a couple of outdoor attractions.
Tagsylvania's Storyline
The fictional background for the haunt lies in the initial settlement of what became Big Flats, a time when the area was actually called Atsingnetsing by the indigenous Algonquins. Tagsylania's tale tells of an unearthly fog that descended on Halloween night, possessing the settlers with an ancient evil that craved blood. Only one settler survived to tell the story of the supernatural disaster. The story serves as the set-up for the event's Psycho Swamp outdoor haunted attraction.
Psycho Swamp
The Psycho Swamp haunted attraction provides visitors with flashlights and sets them loose on the foggy wooded trails behind Tag's... a fog not unlike the one that possessed the unfortunate settlers back in the 1700s. Even more unlucky may be the poor humans discovered by the bloodthirsty creatures honing in on those flashlight beams piercing the fog.
Lecter's Lair
This two-story haunted attraction lets visitors wander through the bloody house of a dangerous madman. Beware, the madman may not be alone.
Zig Zag Zombies
The final attraction, Zig Zag Zombies, allows customers to shoot at moving "zombies" (actors with padded protective costumes) with paintball guns. Remember one of the lessons learned in Night of the Living Dead (1968), "Kill the brain and you kill the ghoul."
